A federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that the Justice Department cannot prosecute medical marijuana businesses if those businesses are in compliance with applicable state laws. The court had been asked to rule on whether the Justice Department had proper authority to press forward with federal drug charges in 10 cases involving medical marijuana dispensaries and growers in California and Washington state. LAYTON, Utah - 18-year-old Tanis Lloyd Ukena has been arrested for allegedly tampering with a Police Sgt.’s drink, by spiking it with methamphetamines and THC. The arrest was made after the officer was admitted into a hospital after tasting “chemicals” in his drink, and feeling uneasy. after seeing him on the surveillance video. Sgt. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a new synthetic marijuana. The liquid formulation of dronabinol — a synthetic form of the psychoactive compound in cannabis: tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), was officially approved a few weeks ago. A former California inmate facility has been approved as the location for a cannabis growing and processing operation. Last Thursday the Coalinga City Council voted on two local measures regarding marijuana, both of which have passed.
