Czech Republic Pharmacies Begin Selling Medical Cannabis

CzechPicsMedical cannabis has officially been made available in pharmacies throughout the Czech Republic effective April 1, 2013, and no we aren’t foolin’.

The miraculous substance will be available for those individuals that have been authoritatively diagnosed with one or more of the numerous ailments designated via the government’s rubrics and regulations.

Unfortunately, the Czech Republic’s governmental officials don’t foresee the substance in question being covered under health insurance policies regardless of its worthiness of a pharmacopeia listing.

For the first year of the program the medicinal cannabis supply will reportedly be imported from countries such as Israel and the Netherlands, thus giving the State Institute for Drug Control time to issue licenses to prospective cannabis cultivators all through their own country.

The institute will also be responsible for determining the crop plot areas and organizing tenders for cannabis supply purchases from the nominated cultivators.

Regarding recreational cannabis, the Czech Republic has been reported to provide some of the most liberal access to soft drugs in all of Europe.

Czech’s current laws concerning cannabis are actually attracting the attention of the plant’s consumers from neighboring countries such as Poland, where stricter cannabis laws are applied.

Presently in the Czech Republic, individuals caught in possession of up to 15 grams of cannabis or cultivating up to five adult plants merely runs the risk of a fine similar to a traffic violation. That is attractive.

I’m not down with the government controlling every aspect of the medicinal cannabis program but at least the Czech’s are making an effort to bring intellect and compassion to their country’s inhabitants.

Help bring the necessary knowledge to the fearful and ignorant by becoming actively involved on a grass roots level and let your voice be heard.
