The first medical cannabis dispensary in Washington, D.C. is scheduled to open later this month.

The dispensary will be located in the Metropolitan Wellness Center—two miles from the U.S. Department of Justice. It will sell dried cannabis, paraphernalia and pot infused brownies, cookies and drinks, according to ABC News.

The store will only serve residents with HIV, AIDS, cancer, glaucoma and multiple sclerosis, per the district’s Department of Health requirements.

Under district law dispensaries are legal, but the federal system still considers them illegal.

“The fact that the District of Columbia can pass it legally, and the District of Columbia is in the land of the federal government … is a contradiction and it speaks to the fact that federal law needs to sort of get on board with what more states are saying,” Vanessa West, general manager of planned D.C. dispensary Metropolitan Wellness Center said.

Medical marijuana is now allowed in 18 states and the District of Columbia.
