House Approves Amendment Allowing VA Doctors to Recommend Cannabis to Veterans

House Approves Amendment Allowing VA Doctors to Recommend Cannabis to Veterans - Weed Finder™Earlier today, the House of Representatives has voted to allow doctors to recommend medical marijuana to US military veterans in all states with pre-existing laws for medical cannabis.

Members voted 233 to 189 today in favor of the Veterans Equal Access Amendment, offered by Rep. Blumenauer (D-OR) to the Fiscal Year 2017 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, that prohibits the federal government from sanctioning V.A. physicians who wish to recommend cannabis therapy to their patients.

This provision allows  military veterans who reside in states with active medical cannabis programs to obtain a recommendation from their V.A. physician.

A huge victory for ex-military men and women in almost half the country, but what about the other half?  While the passing of this Amendment should be viewed as a battle won, the war is far from over…
