Anonymous Team Vendetta has taken down the website of hypocritical New York Assemblyman Steve Katz, who last year voted against medical marijuana for sick people who need it, but in March got busted for smoking weed after he got pulled over for speeding.

Members of the hacktivist collective temporarily took down Katz’s site, katz4ny.com, on Wednesday morning. The site was still down as of 1:42 p.m. Pacific.

Katz was hit with a pot possession charge when an officer smelled weed after stopping him for going 80 miles an hour in a 65 mph zone on the New York State Thruway.

That was the 59-year-old Putnam County lawmaker’s first known pot bust, but oddly, he was arrested two times for allegedly mishandling dogs when he worked as a veterinarian. Both of those cases were dismissed.

Pothead Assemblyman Katz sits on the committees for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, as well as Higher (nudge nudge, wink wink) Education.

“We have been working for a year, so we are ready to expand and get more information out there,” Toke Signals’ contact within Team Vendetta told us Wednesday morning. “The more peeps we have, the more we can get people involved and share info.”
